What is the data collection schedule?

For PIRLS 2006, countries in the Northern Hemisphere conducted the assessment between March and May 2006. In the United States, data collection began slightly earlier and ended in early June. Countries in the Southern Hemisphere conducted the assessment in October and November, 2005. In both hemispheres the assessment is conducted near the end of the school year.
