Quality Control for the 2001 National Main AssessmentField managers were encouraged to make in-person visits to schools to monitor new supervisors or inexperienced supervisors. Although there was not a definitive number or percentage of schools that field managers were expected to visit, many visits were made. During these visits field managers used debriefing forms to note their observations. Field managers also conducted telephone follow-ups with 10 percent of participating schools. They used telephone follow-up forms to conduct the interview with a school staff member. These forms gathered information about a supervisor's performance, overall school satisfaction, and any comments or suggestions the school might have for future assessments.
