Higher percentages of AI/AN students at high density schools have administrators who report opportunities for sharing native histories and traditions than at low density schools

The NIES school survey asked school administrators about opportunities for families to share AI/AN histories and traditions as part of their school's instructional program.

Findings

  • School administrators of 43 percent of fourth-graders in high density schools reported opportunities for sharing native histories and traditions in school at least 3 times a year, compared to 20 percent of fourth-graders in low density schools.
