Welcome to the NAEP Questions Tool Help

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) uses assessment questions that are regarded as exemplary in design and quality of information produced. After each assessment cycle, NAEP releases many of the questions to the public. The NAEP Questions Tool (NQT) provides educators and researchers greater access to NAEP assessment questions.

The NQT Help will show you how to search for specific questions and view search results according to basic criteria of assessment type, subject, grade, and year. You can engage advanced criteria to narrow a search by content area, cognitive level, difficulty, and response type.

In addition, you will learn how to save and print your selected questions along with their associated scoring guides, keys, classification information, performance data, student group data, and actual student responses (for constructed-response questions).
