Search results can be sorted to more easily find specific questions of interest.

Sorting follows a predictable pattern, but it might not be apparent at first glance. Let's take a closer look to see how sorting works.

The direction of a column sort is indicated by a blue arrow pointing down for descending or pointing up for ascending.

Click the header to sort the list on that column.

The order of the sort is the left column first, then the second column, the third column, and so on.

This example includes columns for question type and level of difficulty. If you wanted to first sort this list based on level of difficulty, you would need to move the column labeled Diff. to the left.

To move a column, locate the mouse pointer over the column header, hold the left mouse button down, drag the column header to the left, and then release the mouse button. Note the orange marker that moves along with the header. It indicates where the column will be located when you release the mouse button.

Now that the Diff. column is the first column on the left, the list automatically re-sorts: easy questions first, then medium difficult questions, then hard questions.

Watch as we move the Type column to the second column position from the left.

With this new sort order the list is sorted by level of difficulty first, then question type, and then the other columns. We see easy multiple choice questions ... followed by easy constructed response questions ... followed by easy extended constructed response questions ... followed by medium difficulty multiple choice, and so on.
